Bliss Massage: Celebrating One Year

Meet our Client Spotlight, Jessica Simmons! In January 2024, Jess took a leap of faith and opened her own massage practice, Bliss Massage, in Marquette, Michigan. Jess began carving her own path back in 2011 when she earned her Associates Degree in the Science of Business. She moved to Marquette not long after and worked as a receptionist at a spa which introduced her to the world of massage. 

She decided to go to school to become a massage therapist, and graduated from the Marquette School of Therapeutic Massage not long after. When asked what inspired her to start her own business, Jess said that it was always in the back of her mind to start her own business one day. She was at a point in her massage career that she could either continue on the path she was on, or branch out and try something new. Alas, Bliss Massage was born. As we know, building a business from the ground up doesn’t come without challenges. Jess had to learn to trust herself and become comfortable with standing her ground in the face of hardship. When she felt like the weight was getting too heavy, Accelerate UP was able to assist in finding her confidence again. “They were there for me during the challenging times of owning my business,” Jess explained. 

Now, her favorite part of having created Bliss Massage is the freedom it grants her. If she could give other entrepreneurs a piece of advice, she would suggest that people follow their heart and their dream because that is what will lead to fulfillment. “Listen to what your soul wants,” she says.
